My very first blog!

I don't really know how to start one of these so I'll just take it one post at a time.

My name is Christine - 24 (soon to be a quarter of a century) years old, wife, mommy, sister, daughter, aunt and sister-in-law. I'm currently adjusting to my new roles as a wife to the most wonderful husband, Luis and as a mommy to the most beautiful baby, Bella.

When I'm not cleaning the house, doing the laundry, cooking or taking care of Bella, you'll most likely find me online. Before I got married, my presence in the internet can only be detected when I would check my emails. Now that I've moved far away from the home that I know and now living in the good old South, alone (thank goodness I have Bella now!) until Luis comes home, I'm finding myself in front of this laptop discovering many avenues that I never knew existed in the internet. The turns that I've taken using these avenues have brought me to be a Turker Mom.

I'm getting ahead of myself. This all started when I moved down to the States. I got married on new year's eve of 2005. As a Canadian, I had to wait for my green card in order to work. That seemed forever to happen and when it finally did, I already had a 3-day old little Bella. So my start of searching for making money online began.

Believe it or not, you can make money online. I know what you're thinking, "This blog is going to be about those get-rich-online stuff." I'm actually here to tell you that maybe some people do get rich but I personally don't know anyone who is raking in all the cash from the internet. I will shamefully admit that we, being my husband and I, bit into those get rich stuff for a season until we came to ourselves and realized that it wasn't for us. Unlike those who I've heard who lost thousands of dollars from these things, we, fortunately, didn't lose any money. We just made sure that there was such thing as a refund policy to anything that we contemplated on joining.

With that experience, I found out about Cafemom.com where all these moms communicate and it was there that I discovered that I wasn't alone in being a new mommy looking for ways to make money online. It was through moms, just like me, that I found out ways to make a few cents here and there and over time, I actually had a check in my name for a few dollars.

Have you ever gotten spammed with advertisements for just about anything? Well, I found out that I can actually get paid to view those ads! It was a mere 2 cents per ad with Hits4Pay but I already received $25 in the mail and I'm getting ready to reach my next $25. I know of other get-paid-to-read ads but I found Hits4Pay to be the one that works for me. I've also done surveys but I was unfortunately not too patient enough for them. There are also these web sites that give you money if you complete some of their offers. Some don't require credit card numbers but some do.

Well, I don't know how I got here but I guess this shows a little bit of a background as to why this blog is called Turker Mom. I guess I'll speak about being a turker in a separate post all together.
